"that's an issue you can really draw a line in the sand for"

my title is the response of the man on the phone who i informed that i was not voting for Obama mostly because of his stance on Abortion. that wasn't entirely true, but it was the easiest thing to explain...

you should read this article. even if you hate John McCain, he and his running mate Sarah Palin have one thing right... unborn children have a right to live.

http://www.ontheissues.org/Social/Barack_Obama_Abortion.htm

"...perhaps we could agree on ways to reduce the number of women who felt the need to have abortions in the first place..."
this is the only statement in this article that didn't make me angry... yes. we should agree on a way to reduce the number of women who feel the need to have abortions, but we shouldn't do so by protecting their "civil liberty of choice" to abort a child even in the earliest stages of fetal development.

OBAMA'S PLAN

* Protecting a Women's Right to Choose: Obama will make safeguarding women's rights under Roe v. Wade a priority. He opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn that decision.
* Reducing Unintended Pregnancy: Obama will work to reduce unintended pregnancy by guaranteeing equity in contraceptive coverage, providing sex education, and offering rape victims accurate information about emergency contraception.

a short summary for those who don't want to read the whole article...
-voted no to ban of partial birth abortion in Illinois.
-supports use of aborted fetuses for stem cell research
-voted against giving unborn children coverage under Illinois State Children's Health Insurance Program
-does not believe that a clear definition of "life at conception" is possible
-supports public funding for contraception availability
-voted agains legislation requiring minors from states with differing abortion laws to follow the laws of the stricter state
-believes parents do not need to be notified of minor's intentions of abortion

if you vote for nothing else, vote for children... but remember, actions speak louder than the check on the ballot... if you vote for children, be ready to do something about it. be ready to support teenage mothers who choose to keep their babies, to adopt babies who would have been aborted... be ready to stand.

“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they ALL were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”-Ps.139:16.

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See I have engraved you on the palms of My hands.”-Is. 49:15-16
